Chinese Civilization

Overview | History | Geography & Maps | Art & Culture | Shamanism | Peoples

China is a large and diverse country with an ancient civilization that influenced its neighbors, including Korea and Japan to the east and Siberia to north. Pottery, bronze, iron, and other art and artifacts, as well as religious ideas including shamanism and related symbols were carried into northeast Siberia. These influenced the region's cultures including those of the Chukchi, Koryak and Siberian Eskimo.

Here are resources focusing on Shang and Chou Dynasty cultures, their influence on the cultures of Siberia, and on the dogs of East Asia.
